Florida Deputy Director
Alex Gibson is the Florida Deputy Director at the Fines and Fees Justice. He works closely with community organizations across the state to reduce the economic impact that fines and fees have on the lives of many Floridians. Along with the Florida State Director, he also collaborates with legislators and many organizations across the state to garner support for legislation that will positively impact the quality of life for all Florida citizens.
Prior to working with the Fines and Fees Justice Center, Alex worked directly with impacted individuals as the Outreach Coordinator for the Dream Defenders, where he organized and mobilized community members and college students for political actions in Tallahassee. He also specializes in voter engagement and turnout, having held titles as the Lead FAMU Campus Intern, Data Coordinator, Senior Organizer, and Canvass Director with For Our Future FL, where he facilitated the victories of national and local candidates and campaigns. He also served as the Political Organizer with SEIU MO/KS State Council where he worked with the Executive Director to develop strategy and programming to help members become politically active as well as work in tandem with the labor union team.
Alex was born and raised in South Florida, where he currently resides. He holds a B.S. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. He also holds many data analytics, web developing, and digital strategy certificates. In his free time, he plays basketball, tennis, and volunteers with local organizations.
