Jessey Neves
Communications Director
Jessey Neves is the Communications Director at the Fines and Fees Justice Center. She leads the direction and oversight of a comprehensive communications strategy to advance FFJC’s campaigns for fines and fees reform. Jessey has directed policy and communications in political and issue campaigns at the local, state and national level. She has over 12 years of nonprofit and public sector experience in strategic advocacy-based communications and public policy. Previously, she served as the Director of Communications for the MacArthur Justice Center. She oversaw external and internal communications to shape multi-channel strategies that enabled the organization to share their clients’ stories, articulate legal arguments, reflect community concerns, and push for systemic change.
Prior to joining MacArthur, she served in senior leadership for Cook County, Illinois, the nation’s second largest county. As Senior Advisor to Board President Toni Preckwinkle, she oversaw policy priorities, public affairs, and crisis communications. She also served as the Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Cook County, serving as executive speechwriter and leading the media and community affairs operations.
