Eve Hanan
Eve Hanan is a Professor of Law at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, where she teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, and a course on the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. She also supervises student attorneys representing clients in criminal proceedings through the UNLV Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic and in partnership with the Clark County Public Defender. Previously, she practiced criminal defense as a trial and appellate public defender in Boston, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Her research analyzes criminal justice policy in light of social science research and political theory.
Hanan has a particular interest in misdemeanors. She co-founded and directed the Misdemeanor Clinic at the law school, as well as a course on misdemeanor policy in which students prepared white papers on the impact of fines and fees and analyzed legislative proposals.
