Personal Narrative: Betty

Betty Lou owes Alabama state thousands of dollars for a crime which she served her sentence for more than 10 years ago. Her license is suspended and she can’t afford to get it re-instated. She works as a housekeeper at a Montgomery office supply manufacturer. She pays $100 to stay with a friend and $30 to her friend to drive her to and from work. She used to use payday loans to pay her monthly probation costs when she was out of work and the payday loan companies would raid her account as soon as she deposited money. She doesn’t have a bank account anymore and uses a Walmart Card to secure and get money.
