Maryland House Bill 566: Waives pretrial home detention fees for indigent defendants.
Maryland HB 566 provides that indigent defendants shall not be required to pay a home detention monitoring fee. Currently, county courts have discretion to waive the fee. Under HB 566, non-indigent individuals who are ordered to a term of home detention must still pay $75 per week.
