Framing the System of Monetary Sanctions as Predatory: Policies, Practices, and Motivations

This literature review previews various articles included in volume four of the University of California, Los Angeles Criminal Justice Law Review. All of the articles discuss how court fines and fees may be viewed as predatory, but from three different angles: theoretical framework, ground-level practices, and the motivations of justice actors and policymakers.
